OK the water ain t "boiling" but I sure wouldn t stick my hand in it and still have to wait a few minutes before I can drink my tea. Think it is just perfect, wee bit noisy but so is a kettle. bought one for my friend s mum who is disabled - means she does not have to lift a heavy kettle - she loves it too! I would highly recommend it - was almost put off by the poor reviews but decided to give it a go anyway and no regrets. Buy it! Great for a cup of tea now, instead of 20 minutes I ve had this kettle for 8 months now, I love it. I hate making a cup of tea and waiting 20 minutes for it to cool before i can even touch it, when you want a cup of tea you want it now. This is perfect for that, I don t find the hot instead of boiling water a problem with the tea s taste. Granted everyone is different. I wouldn t recommend this however for a large or even normal family, perfect for couples who don t need to boil large amounts of water. Great for Green Tea drinkers If like me you drink a lot of green tea, whether it be Sencha, Houjicha, Gyokuru etc, then this is the kettle for you. Good quality green tea should be served between the 60 - 70 degree mark. This kettle out puts at 85 degrees, however if you add cold water you can get it to the 60 - 70 degree mark. I haven t had any problems with mine and I have ordered one for my home and 2 for my two offices. I have even bought one for my mother. My friend however, ordered one 2 weeks ago and it has broken... If you want other more "english" tea, then this may not be the right device for you. I do not have any milk with my teas, so it stays hot for ages. Make your own mind up :-) |
